Jen, the made-for-TV version of The Shining was filmed at the Stanley hotel in Estes Park. The book was written there about that hotel but the original movie wasn't filmed there. It may have been filmed in CO, but I don't think so.
Remember that science fiction film we were in as extras? When we walked sadly and dejected along the road up towards Red Canyon. I can't remember the name but it was meant to be a serious sci fi and turned out to be so bad it became a spoof.
