so far...

Both kids are at school again.  Yay.  A nice relaxing day.  I decided I would just stay home and chill.  In my Pjs even.

You know what they say about the best laid plans...
(Actually, what do they say?  "The best laid plans of mice and men"....what???)

My baby girl starts seventh grade today.
She missed the bus.

My boy has been having stomach trouble and I have to fight him nearly every day to get him to school.  I know he doesn't feel good, but he would have missed more than he went if I let him stay home every day he complains.  Today was no different.  I hate it.  I want him to feel well and I don't like to start the morning with so much discord.

My husband is leaving for the DC area today.  He forgot his laptop, so I have to take that to him before he goes.

I'm no longer in my PJs and I'm feeling anything but relaxed.
Oh well, as my friend Robbie would say.  Oh well.  It is only 8:30, perhaps I can turn this baby around.

And, in light of my theme for the week.  I will praise God anyway.  He is still pretty awesome in spite of my lousy morning!

(The picture is not really my baby, but it symbolizes my baby as she takes off into the great unknown!)

  2. I hope your day gets better, Kay. I betcha it will. God is strengthing your resolve to persevere and praise. Cool. And I have to tell you that despite your "oh well" :0) moments, I am jealous. Your kids are back to school. I have two weeks. I love my boy, don't get me wrong, but it is time!!!

I like Mel's idea - go to Panera Bread. Love that place.

  4. I got to go to work today. I can always remember all of my wonderful summer plans- that I forget during the summer- when I go back to work.
Maybe the boy has his Mommy's tender tummy? Or schoolitis? I had that a lot myself.

  5. God took up your challenge, you know, to praise Him regardless of circumstances. How on earth could B. forget his laptop? Must have been rattled a little bit.I thought computers grew off of him.:)

  6. It's hard for the mom when the children enter new worlds of experience--especially junior high.

When I was in early elementary school I got sick every day at math time for a while. I wonder if anything is bothering your son at school.
