Today I prayed for my friend Mel, her family, and the thousands of others who by faith walked into their church building. By faith, they raised their hands to worship the One Who Gives and Takes Away. And of course the families of those who've lost loved ones in the tragedy.
I'm sure fear has played some part in every person who attends that church at some point during the past week. But they have overcome.
We sang this song in church and my mind was on all of those people. And on our God who is faithful to save. Hosanna means Save, we pray.
Praise is rising, eyes are turning to You, we turn to You
Hope is stirring, hearts are yearning for You, we long for You
'Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day
In Your Presence all our fears are washed away, washed away
CHORUS
Hosanna, hosanna
You are the God Who saves us, worthy of all our praises
Hosanna, hosanna
Come have Your way among us
We welcome You here, Lord Jesus
Hear the sound of hearts returning to You, we turn to You
In Your Kingdom broken lives are made new, You make us new
'Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day
In Your Presence all our fears are washed away, washed away

All went well for our first Sunday at church. There is no visible signs of anything that went on..so it has been hard for me to really believe it happened. The sermon was very encouraging. Very happy that this church had a pastor in place when this all happened. It has been good for everyone.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't even imagine how it would feel to have something like that happen at our church. We live about a half hour from the Pentagon and it sort of left you feeling numb knowing something horrific happened so close to home. The Pentagon looked worse than the pictures that they showed on TV. It didn't get as much press as the Twin Towers. Any catastrophe now matter the size effects peoples lives forever. Not long after 9-11 we had the Washington DC area sniper attacks -you are just never sure what people intent of evil are going to do or what they are capable of, BUT we can always rest assured that God loves us and understands our pain. Praying that God gives strength and showers HIS unconditional love on all of those effected by the tragedies in CO.
