dream

When I was a youngster there were two things I aspired to be when I grew up. A veterinarian and a cowgirl. Not just any cowgirl, either. I wanted to be Rodeo Queen!

One day our dog got worms and I decided right then and there that I didn't want to be a vet anymore.

But Rodeo Queen! That never quite went away. We never even had a horse. Just a stubborn ol' pony who wouldn't even run and I could probably count on one hand the number of rodeos I've been to. But still...

So, what was it you hoped to be doing by now? Are you doing it? Did you make it? What did you wanna be when you grew up?
(PS take the totally unrelated poll over there on the right!)

  1. Well, I always wanted to be a cowboy, but would have settled for being a cowgirl. We did have horses now and again but I always wanted to be on a ranch. When I was in junior high, I wanted to be a rodeo trick rider. Now all I want is to be a decent person and to minister to the elderly, the mentally ill, and other "unlovables".

  3. I love it!! My daughter wants to be a cowgirl zookeeper. :)

I wanted to be President of the United States. Thankfully, I've been medicated sufficiently and I now know that only someone insane would want that.

  4. When I was my daughter's age or younger, I wanted to marry a man who ran a gas station that was open 24 hours a day. Crazy...

Then as I got older I wanted to be a nurse, teacher, counselor. I became a counselor and then after having children I'm a home-school teacher.

My son (4) told me that he wants to be either: Spiderman, Batman, Superman or a preacher.

My daughter (7) has it all planned out. She is going to be a summer library program volunteer as soon as she turns 12 then for her life's work she will be as follows... a librarian, a governor and President of the United States. She keeps saying that she doesn't want Hillary to be the next president because she wants to be the first woman president. She has also mentioned wanting to be a missionary.

My son used to aspire to work at McDonalds. I told him I believed he could do it if he applied.
My daughter has had several dreams, most of which involve animals and teaching. She used to want to hae her own school and also own a pet shop.

  6. When I was in fourth grade I told my teacher I was going to be the first woman truck driver. She told me I could be president if I wanted to and I politely told her that someone else could have that job, I wanted to drive a truck.

I married a truck driver and we drove over the road for a few years together!

From the fifth grade on, I wanted to write a book. I've always been a writer, I'm finally writing a book.
