monday movie meme

I found this over at The Bumbles Blog and thought it would be fun to talk about.

This weeks theme is "Movies you'd most like to hang out in."

Movie worlds draw us in and sometimes it's sad to leave. So my picks:

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, because who wouldn't want to hang out in Narnia?

Toy Story, as long as I can be a toy.

Monsters Inc because I like scaring people.

Big Fish because it's whimsical and beautiful.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because CHOCOLATE river! Duh!

Camelot because it would be so cool to see Camelot and meet Arthur and it is so heartbreaking, devastating, and sad.

What about you? Which movies would you like to spend some time in?

  1. Sound of Music - romance, gazebo, music, you name it!
Mary Poppins - so I can learn how to snap my fingers to clean my house!
Princess Diaries II - because Julie Andrews is a Queen!!

  2. Penelope because Johnny loves Penelope even though she has a pig's nose.

LOTR, but only in The Shire.

The Harry Potter movies because I'd love to explore Hogwarts.

  3. Hmmmmmm....I'll play.

It's A Wonderful Life - I would love to live in black and white for a while. Seems easier.

I don't remember the name but the movie last year with Steve Carell as a single dad. Great story and I would love to be part of the family in that.

Out of Africa - What gorgeous scenery - And I'm not just talking about Robert Redford. :0)

Steel Magnolias - I love movies that show the bond of women. I could totally hang out with Weezer! :0)

    Fun, Kay!

  4. Lots, but . . .

National Velvet with Elizabeth Taylor riding "the Pi"

Pirates of the Caribbean! Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate's life for me.

Benny and Joon . . . all sympathetic and lovable characters

Seabiscuit (I'd be right at home.)

  5. Sister Act, Mary Poppins, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. And yes, I'm weird.

  6. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe - I agree with Kay - how cool!

Pirates of the Carribbean - as long as I could bring a toothbrush

To Catch a Thief - Cary Grant, the Mediterranean - need I say more?

Mary Poppins - love the carousel

Wizard of Oz - I love the ruby slippers

  7. On Golden Pond or Beaches. Just for the beach. I want to retire on a beach. As long as my family or friends are there.

You've Got Mail. Because I am intimidated by New York and they seem to love it, know it and get around without fear. It also seems like a hothouse for writers. And it's close to the beach. :-)

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. They are on the ocean in France. 'nuff said.

South Pacific. For the music. And the beach.

Chariots of Fire. For the music, the friendship, the passion, the olympic ideal, "When I run, I feel God's pleasure" - to do anything that well... and for the beach...

I love to hear your thoughts!
